STANDARD LEVEL 

Every snowfall over 1 cm 

SEASONAL OPERATIONS 

  • Snow removal is from November 1 to April 30. Most record-breaking snowfalls occur in March and April. Our crews are always ready to clear snow promptly. 

SERVICE DETAILS 

  • TIMING: Clearing begins once the snow stops falling, day or night. We don’t clear during snowfall or high winds causing drifting. 
  • FREQUENCY: Each snowfall is cleared once. We aim to keep your driveway and walks as clean as possible to avoid build-up. 
  • EQUIPMENT: We use vinyl shovels for fresh snow. In some neighborhoods, we use a small tractor or truck with a composite plastic blade for efficiency and safety. 
  • THRESHOLD: Snowfalls less than or equal to 1cm will only be cleared when accumulation exceeds 1cm. 
  • UNLIMITED SERVICE: If it snows every day, we will be there every day for you 
  • ICE/SNOW MELT: Also available for an additional fee.

Priority snow clearing includes all Standard Level terms plus these bonuses: 

FASTEST SERVICE 

  • Priority clients are placed at the top of the list and are served before Standard Level customers. 

SCRAPED TO THE CONCRETE EVERY TIME! 

  • Driveways and sidewalks are scraped down to the concrete after every snowfall, usually the next day. For heavier snowfalls, scraping is guaranteed within 48 hours. If more snow or high winds are forecast within 48 hours, scraping will be done after the second event. 

SMALLER SNOWFALLS ALSO CLEARED 

  • Snowfalls between ½ cm and 1 cm will be cleared the same day or next day, including weekends, from 7am–9pm.

FAQS

It is impossible to know precisely how long each and every property will take leading up to yours. There are a multitude of additional factors that we cannot predict or control such as; driving time, traffic conditions, snow volume, how light or heavy the snow is, and extremely cold temperatures to name a few. These factors make it impossible for us to give you a precise answer. In short, our crews always get to you as quickly as possible, usually within 5-8 hours and it has been years since we have taken over 10 hours to reach all of our customers for even the worst snowfalls.

Our tractors and truck plows only clear the bulk of the snow from your driveway. The operator does not have shovels. A second crew will be attending your property to do all of the areas that the tractor/truck plow cannot reach including your steps, sidewalks, and along the edges of the driveway.

Often our shovelling crew will arrive at your home before our tractor/truck plow. When they do, they clear everything but the driveway. Our tractor/truck plow will be along shortly to finish the driveway.

If a vehicle happens to be parked on the driveway when we arrive to clear your snow, we will clear your snow everywhere that we can, but we will not knock on your door and wait for it to be moved. Feel free to call us when the vehicle has been moved and we will gladly return to clear the snow that we were not able to clear under and around the car. 

We will not throw snow over fences, and we will not push snow over unreasonable distances and certainly not across back lanes. There must be space available for our crews to readily and easily pile the snow on your premises.

We do not chop or remove ice. This should not be a problem as far as your snow clearing is concerned as we will be keeping your driveway clear of snow. However, some customers have drain spouts or eaves troughs that drain or leak onto their driveways on warmer days. Unfortunately, there is no safe way to remove this ice without risking damage to the concrete below it, nor is this something we can anticipate or budget for.

We do not provide sanding or salting services. We recommend the use of cat litter.

No refunds or partial refunds will be provided if you or your neighbour clear your snow on a casual basis. When you book our service, we have no way of knowing when your neighbour will decide to do you a favour and clear your snow. Thus, we will still need to send our crews to your property with every snowfall. We have still purchased equipment, hired staff, burnt fuel, and been on 24-hour standby, ready to clear your snow at a moment’s notice. When you book our service, you have taken up a spot that we could have otherwise given to a customer willing to pay full price for the service they need.

No. We are fully booked every year. We have no need for short-term or piecework. We only accept full-term customers.

No. Some years are harsh, and some years are easy. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing until winter is over. If we knew what kind of winter was coming, snow clearing prices would fluctuate wildly from year to year. Snow clearing is like car insurance, you don’t buy car insurance hoping you will get into an accident just so you say you got your money’s worth. 

Absolutely. If you are not happy with our service, we will gladly refund the balance of the season minus the $100 cancellation fee, and terminate your contract and services. We also reserve the right to terminate any customer that exhibits abusive, threatening, sexist, sarcastic, or manipulative behavior. 

While it is exceptionally rare, it does happen that one of our crews accidentally misses a customer, an area of a customer’s property, or clears your neighbour by mistake. If we have not serviced your property within 8 hours of the snow ending, please contact us and we will have a crew attend your property as soon as possible. What is more likely, is that more snow or high winds are expected. Please check the current forecast before calling to be sure. If we have missed anything, we have staff available to attend to your property promptly.

No. Not only is this inefficient, wasting fuel and labour for a special trip, it also presents an issue if heavy, wet snow falls and temperatures freeze turning the wet snow to ice overnight and we cannot predict if or when that might happen.

If your broadleaf weeds are not completely eliminated within 14 days of your second visit, we will gladly perform an additional weed control application at no extra cost. If you are not satisfied with the results we will cheerfully refund 110% of your remaining applications.

*This guarantee does not apply to weeds growing in other areas of your property outside of your lawn, or areas that are not being regularly mowed. This guarantee is not applicable to ground covers such as Creeping Charlie, Creeping Bellflower, or Yarrow. For advice on how to deal with these ground covers and non-broadleaf weeds, please contact our office and we would be happy to work with you do eliminate this problem. This guarantee is also void where proper cultural practices are not being followed or performed, or if the program is delayed by the customer.
